Prof. Marta Bogdanowicz, Uniwersytet Gdański
Marta Bogdanowicz was born in 1943. She is a full professor of humanities in the field of psychology, an academic teacher, a lecturer at the University of Gdańsk and the SWPS University. She is a clinical child psychologist, a long-time director of the Institute of Psychology at the University of Gdańsk. She is the founder of the Polish Dyslexia Society. From 1999 to 2008, she was vice-president of the European Dyslexia Association and a member of international scientific societies.
Her interests, work and research focus mainly on clinical child psychology, developmental dyslexia, left-handedness, prevention of school failure and pedagogical therapy.
She is one of the pioneers of the work of the Developmental Movement Method of Veronika Sherborne. Professor Marta Bogdanowicz received the “Meritorious for Polish Psychology” medal from the Polish Psychological Society, and children awarded her the Order of the Smile.
Professor Marta Bogdanowicz is the author of the Good Start Method, which aims to support the psychomotor development of children. This method is used to activate the development of psychomotor functions and their integration, as well as to correct disorders of this development, which creates conditions for a proper learning process. It aims to support the child’s development through psychomotor rehabilitation and education using polysensory learning. It is used in kindergartens and early school education.
Prof. Marta Bogdanowicz has supervised 25 doctoral students and published 400 scientific and popular science publications, including 40 books and publications.
